Creekside Daycare

Winter: As the children come in they are greeted by me and the play begins.  When all the children have arrived we have group time and we do flash cards, colors, counting, sounds, art etc.  We count to 100 everyday sometimes numerous times along with the alphabet.  We have exercise time also where we run and do fun things to get the sillies out and also to let the scream out that builds up after being cooped up because of the cold. We have free play after that until lunch.  Lunch is between 10:30 and 11:00 because of the kindergartners.  After lunch we clean up and get ready for nap.  Nap is from 12-2:00-2:30.   Every child under school age has a rest time.  Snack follows nap and then the kids start going home.  During this time it is free play and before the last children go we all help pick up then we play games until its time to go. If weather permits the kids go out on the sliding hill or play in the back yard.

Spring and Fall: This is a lot like winter with the exception that we play outside a lot more and go for nature hikes.  Even the little babies come with.  The fresh air is wonderful for everyone.

Summer: is very unique here.  We have a lot of fun and are always using our imaginations.  We are outdoors almost all day long.  We eat outside and everything.  We have the sprinkler going and have water buckets to fill.  I have a large play area with swings, cabins, a big sand box and plenty of room to run.  The school kids have the option of attending summer rec., which is a wonderful program.  We hike up to fox hill and spend most of our mornings up there.

The TV is not a normal part of our day.  We will go days and some times weeks without turning it on.
